Škoda Auto Expands Moroccan Production Amid Ukraine War Disruptions

The Russian-Ukrainian war is pushing the Czech automaker Škoda Auto to increase its production capacity in Kenitra and Tangier.
Škoda Auto announces in a press release that it has partially relocated its cable harness production from Ukraine to the Czech Republic. The Czech automaker has also announced that it has obtained additional production capacity from the company Kromberg & Schubert, in its plant in Kenitra. This in order to meet future demand for cable harnesses for the production of the ENYAQ IV. Another announcement: the cable harnesses for the OCTAVIA and SUPERB models will be produced in Tangier.
These measures aim to "protect the company even more effectively against any future supply chain disruptions. The arrangements will allow doubling the current production volumes, if necessary," the same source specifies. "We have worked closely with our partners in recent weeks to minimize the impact of the war in Ukraine on cable harness supply. With great dedication, we have managed to resume production in Ukraine in a short time and to significantly increase manufacturing capacities," said Karsten Schnake, member of the Škoda Auto Board of Directors for Purchasing.
