Significant Gas Discovery in Morocco’s Gharb Basin Boosts Energy Independence

SDX Energy has announced the discovery of a significant gas field in the Gharb basin, the exploitation of which will contribute to the economic development of the region.
The Ksiri-21 well, located in the Gharb basin, is a promising deposit, according to the first drilling tests carried out by SDX Energy. For now, the exact quantity of gas discovered in this well has not yet been announced, but this discovery is essential and should help reduce gas imports and strengthen Morocco’s energy independence.
"We are delighted to announce this important discovery in the Ksiri-21 well. This confirms our belief in the potential of the Gharb basin and strengthens our commitment to sustainable hydrocarbon exploration and production in the region," said the CEO of SDX Energy. Other tests will be carried out on this well to determine the commercial viability of the deposit, it is announced.
The discovery of this deposit, which comes at a time when Morocco is seeking to increase its energy production and diversify its supply sources, opens up interesting prospects for the development of the gas industry in Morocco and could help strengthen its position as an energy leader in the region, according to SDX.
