Showers, soaked lawns... and no interruptions: Morocco’s technical gamble pays off

This Wednesday marks the end of the first rotation of the groups with a busy program: the defending champions Côte d’Ivoire take on Mozambique, Cameroon face Gabon, while Algeria and Burkina Faso make their debuts against Sudan and Equatorial Guinea respectively.

The technical choices made upstream have proven to be profitable: draining pitches absorbing water to maintain the fluidity of the game, roofs widely covering the stands and efficient drainage systems have made it possible to avoid any major interruption.

This logistical control has made it possible to preserve the popular celebration. In packed stands, sometimes colored by umbrellas, the supporters were able to continue singing, reassured by infrastructure to international standards. By winning this weather challenge, Morocco is sending a strong message about its organizational capacity and the sustainability of its facilities.
