CAN 2025: Algerian supporters flock massively to Rabat
The enthusiasm for the Africa Cup of Nations is spreading across the northern borders of the Kingdom. Many Algerian supporters, mainly from the diaspora established in Europe, are currently crossing Sebta and Melilla to reach the Moroccan capital and support their national team.
Algerian media report intense activity at the crossing points of the two enclaves, where lines of vehicles registered in Europe have been observed in recent days. Coming mostly from France and Spain, these fans are taking advantage of the geographical proximity to enter Moroccan territory and head to Rabat, the Fennecs’ base camp for this group stage.
This massive mobilization of the Algerian community abroad aims to ensure popular support for their selection, which will start the competition tomorrow, Wednesday. The first match will oppose Algeria to Sudan on the pitch of the Moulay El Hassan stadium. According to the same sources, this influx at the northern land borders should be maintained throughout the tournament, ensuring well-filled stands for the neighboring team’s matches.
