Shakira Reveals Career Sacrifice and Romantic Past in Tax Fraud Hearing

On the occasion of her appearance before the justice system in the context of the tax fraud case against her, Colombian star Shakira has spoken at length about her relationship with her now ex-husband Gerard Piqué and a romantic moment in Marrakech.
This hearing, which lasted 80 minutes and was broadcast exclusively by the newspaper ’El País’, Shakira made statements about her personal life, including her past relationship with the former FC Barcelona player and her move to Miami after their separation.
According to Shakira, living in Spain was a "huge sacrifice" for her career, as the music industry is centered in the United States. She attributes her residence in Spain to her ex-partner, Gerard Piqué, and discusses the challenges of their love relationship. One of the most powerful moments of her statement is her account of the trip from Marrakech to Croatia, where she asked the plane’s pilot to land briefly in Barcelona so she could kiss Piqué - a gesture she describes as the most romantic of her life.
The Colombian artist also revealed certain aspects of the former footballer’s personality. She described their relationship as tumultuous, full of jealousy and insecurities. Despite this, she describes him as an "incredible bearded young man".
Shakira also revealed details about the birth of her son Milan, including how she scheduled the C-section based on her contract with the TV show The Voice. She shared how Piqué’s presence at the birth created tensions with the Barça club, thus confirming long-standing rumors.
