Sevilla Striker Munir El Haddadi Makes Morocco Debut in AFCON Qualifier

Munir El Haddadi played his first match in the Moroccan colors on Friday evening. The Sevilla striker is proud to wear the national team jersey and "return to his roots".
The Atlas Lions faced Mauritania on Friday evening as part of the qualifications for the 2022 Africa Cup of Nations. The match ended in a 0-0 draw, allowing Morocco to qualify for the final phase.
Munir El Haddadi took part in this match, alongside Yassine Bounou and Youssouf En-Nesyri, his compatriots and teammates at Sevilla. The young striker, now authorized by FIFA to play for the Moroccan national team, has thus been baptized.
In a video posted on social media, Munir expresses his pride and joy at playing for the Moroccan team. "I am Munir El-Haddadi. I was born in Madrid, but my origins are Moroccan. I have played for great teams that have filled my eyes with emotion. Today, my football returns to its roots," he said in the video.
