FIFA Clears Munir El Haddadi to Play for Morocco National Team

After several months of waiting, Moroccan striker Munir El Haddadi can now play for the national team, according to a decision by the International Federation of Association Football. He had been authorized last Thursday, January 28, by FIFA to change his sporting nationality following the adoption of the Lekjaâ reform.
This decision was confirmed by the FIFA Player Status Commission, reports Le360. In a correspondence, the legal body of the international football governing body in charge has validated Munir El Haddadi’s request for change of association: "The player, Munir El Haddadi, is eligible to play for the representative team of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation with immediate effect," the commission specifies in its letter, thus confirming the FIFA decision.
Thanks to this decision, Munir El Haddadi can now be called up by coach Vahid Halilhodzic. He thus becomes a new Atlas Lion.
