Sevilla Rejects West Ham’s £17M Bid for Moroccan Striker En-Nesyri

The sporting director of FC Seville, Monchi, has commented on the rejection of West Ham’s offer for Moroccan international Youssef En-Nesyri and discusses the reasons.
In a statement to Diario de Sevilla, Monchi said that Youssef En-Nesyri would never join a Premier League club as part of an initial loan contract. West Ham had offered £17 million to sign the 25-year-old Moroccan international in January, but was met with a categorical refusal from the player, who does not want to leave Seville, reports Marca. The Spanish club would also not accept letting the Moroccan striker leave on a temporary basis.
"It’s true that there have been offers from Germany, France and England. There were practically no permanent offers, but transfers with purchase options [...]. Neither the club nor the player received offers that convinced us. They did not satisfy us," explains Monchi. And he adds: "We continue to trust Youssef. He is happy in Seville. We will have confidence that they (our strikers) will score goals again. With the way the coach (Jorge Sampaoli) plays, with the new systems, we think they can do it."
