Sevilla FC to Play Charity Match in Morocco for Earthquake Relief

Sevilla FC has announced the organization of a friendly match in Morocco in order to raise funds for the people affected by the earthquake that occurred on September 8 in the province of Al Haouz in the Marrakech region.
Pepe Castro, the club’s president, confirmed the information during the presentation of the Moroccan-Andalusian Friendship Association, at the headquarters of the Tres Culturas Foundation. Castro has already informed the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) through Moroccan diplomatic representatives of his intention to play against the Atlas Lions or any team deemed fit, reports El Desmarque.
The president of the association, the writer and poet from Malaga José Sarria, indicated on the occasion that it already has more than 200 Spanish and Moroccan members. It aims to deepen "mutual knowledge with respect and love and with a clear intention to repair so much lack of knowledge and so much ignorance accumulated over the centuries".
For his part, Javier Arroyo, general director of Andalucía Global, encouraged the association to pursue its goals of fraternity with Morocco. The Moroccan-Andalusian Friendship Association intends to improve cooperation in various fields and "create a space for permanent understanding and dialogue" between the Andalusian and Moroccan governments.
