Severe Weather Disrupts Ferry Services Between Spain and Morocco

The port of Tarifa has been forced to cancel all its maritime connections with the port of Tanger Ville. This measure was taken due to the unfavorable weather conditions that the entire region continues to experience. The port of Algeciras has also canceled some of its scheduled departures for Ceuta this Friday morning.
The bad weather, particularly the strong winds, affecting the region has led the port authorities to cancel several departures scheduled for this Friday morning until 11:30 a.m., as well as the 2:15 p.m. connection. The 1:00 p.m., 5:15 p.m. and 8:15 p.m. connections remain pending confirmation. However, maritime traffic between Algeciras and Tangier is continuing normally and no cancellations have been planned on this route for the moment, reports Europa Press.
The port of Tarifa had already closed its facilities last week due to an orange wind alert issued by the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet). It remained closed for four days, before maritime traffic resumed on February 14.
Moroccans residing abroad who are traveling to Morocco are therefore invited to go directly to Algeciras and take the boat to the port of Tanger Med.
