Senegal-Morocco: the CAN final to be broadcast free-to-air on M6 this Sunday

The M6 group has concluded an agreement with beIN Sports to broadcast the Africa Cup of Nations (CAN) final between Senegal and Morocco, this Sunday at 8 pm, free-to-air. The match will be broadcast on the group’s main channel, putting an end to the uncertainty over the choice of broadcast channel.

M6 has chosen to showcase this event on its premium channel rather than on its subsidiary W9, reports L’Equipe. This decision follows a sub-licensing negotiation with beIN Sports, which holds the exclusive rights to the entire competition. The pay-TV broadcaster, however, retains the broadcast of the match on its own channels for its subscribers.

Xavier Domergue will provide the commentary for the national channel. He will be accompanied by former Swiss international Johan Djourou, whose role as a consultant has been confirmed this Thursday. Xavier Domergue’s contract provides for priority for the M6 group in the event of a programming conflict with his usual interventions on other sports platforms.

On beIN Sports, the duo of Julien Chaput and Robert Malm will be providing the commentary. The pay-TV channel plans to go on air from 6:20 pm to cover the pre-match. It will also exclusively broadcast the third-place match between Egypt and Nigeria, scheduled for this Saturday at 5 pm.

This agreement allows for wide visibility for the final match of the competition, which is taking place in Morocco.
