Security Guard Killed in Morocco Over Cigarette Dispute

A security guard died from the blows of a violent and angry man. It is a banal and tragic story. That of a 60-year-old man. Night watchman to make a living, he unexpectedly meets death because he did not have cigarettes to sell to a customer who wanted some.
It is the judicial police of Agadir who have initiated an investigation into the murder that occurred last Saturday in the Taddart Anza district on a 60-year-old night watchman.
It all started, says Assabah, with a dispute between the victim and his alleged murderer, a young man who killed for a cigarette.
The guard not having any, the young man in question who, according to the first elements of the investigation, was not in a normal state, got angry and violently attacked the guard, inflicting a fatal blow to the head.
The alleged murderer then fled, leaving his victim lifeless behind him. But he was arrested by the police just a few hours after his crime, following a large-scale search and identification operation of the aggressor.
Placed in pre-trial detention, the alleged murderer will be brought before the courts as soon as the investigation is completed, the newspaper specifies.
