Sebta Business Group Decries Border Restrictions on Moroccan Tourists

The Confederation of Entrepreneurs of Sebta is unhappy with the mistreatment of Moroccan tourists. They can no longer cross the border due to an "unjustified ban".

The mistreatment inflicted on tourists and workers operating in the transport of goods is not to the liking of the Confederation of Entrepreneurs of Sebta. Joining other protesters, the Sebta employers’ association has positioned itself as a denouncer, reports Les inspirations éco.

According to the Confederation, it is impossible for many Moroccans to cross the border. And those who manage to do so are at high risk.

"Since 2017, regular Moroccan visitors have been denied passage for unjustified criteria. Customers who have helped and contributed to the commercial variety, job creation and the wealth we enjoy today," fumes the Sebta employers’ association.

It adds that this unjustified ban has intensified in recent months and concerns not only the residents of Tetouan but also Moroccan visitors with a visa.

For its part, a government delegation announced the postponement of the resumption of cross-border trade-related activities due to the non-completion of the adjustment work in the areas adjacent to the border crossing.

Similarly, the Sebta authorities have assured that the two parties are currently reflecting on the adoption of a new measure to guarantee the security of the carriers.
