Search Intensifies for Missing Moroccan Man in Bordeaux’s Bacalan District

After spending an evening with friends, outside, in the Bacalan district of Bordeaux, Mourad L., a 43-year-old Moroccan who had recently been released from prison, has not given any sign of life since August 18. A disappearance that worries his family, who are mobilizing to find him. The police are also involved.
Mourad Lasri, 43, was last seen in the Bacalan district of Bordeaux, where he spent the evening with friends. "He was with some friends, quietly, they were sitting together," testifies a member of his family. But he has not given any sign of life after leaving around 10:30 p.m. to go get something, reports Sud Ouest. A disappearance that worries his family. "He left his scooter on the spot the night he disappeared, nothing has moved at his place. His passport is still at home, he didn’t leave on a whim to Morocco to see his parents who are also obviously in anguish."
"He was not depressed," assures his sister-in-law. "And he was very present on a daily basis for his daughters, even though he was separated from their mother, whom he remained close to. Just for them, he couldn’t have left on his own." His family is mobilizing to find him. "We followed the pinging, in the countryside, in the forest, along the Garonne," continues a family member. "His friends tried as much as possible to search but it’s very vast. For ten days we’ve been exhausting ourselves." Gripped by anguish and uncertainty, some relatives now have a "bad feeling" and are considering the worst.
The disappearance of the quadragenarian was reported to the Bordeaux police on August 22 by the mother of his daughters, from whom he is separated. After analyzing telephone records and bank accounts, the investigators questioned witnesses or people from the neighborhood. Actions that do not help, for the moment, to advance the investigation opened for worrying disappearance. Lasri is known to the justice system. He was recently released from prison after a conviction for drug trafficking.
