Disturbing disappearance of a French couple off the coast of Morocco

A French couple from Tarn-et-Garonne (Occitanie) has mysteriously disappeared since March 16, while they were hiking on the Portuguese island of Madeira, off the coast of Morocco.
Véronique and Laurent Blond, a couple of artisan bakers, have been missing since March 16, the date on which they had gone to the island of Madeira, off the coast of Morocco, for a hike on the Sao Vicente trails. Aged 56 and 58 respectively, the two French people have not given any sign of life since then, reports La Dépêche du Midi.
The couple from Occitania was last seen around 3:45 p.m. heading towards Porto Moniz, at Calhau, according to a judicial source cited by the same source. Not seeing her parents return to the hotel where they were staying, their daughter Johanna reported their disappearance to the local authorities.
The rescue and maritime rescue services of Madeira have been mobilized to find the two quinquagenarians. From March 17, a boat was deployed to carry out searches along the coast. Elements of the mountain search and rescue brigade also set out to search for the couple.
As of March 25, the searches have yielded nothing. The two French people remain untraceable. The judicial police of Madeira are continuing their investigation. At the same time, the French authorities carried out a search at the couple’s home in Tarn-et-Garonne. Without result. The mystery of the disappearance of the French couple remains entire.
