SDX Energy Plans New Gas Tests in Morocco’s Lalla Mimouna Field

The oil and gas exploration company SDX Energy wants to launch two new tests on the LMS-2 deposit of the Lalla Mimouna (Kenitra) permit at the end of the 3rd quarter or the beginning of the 4th quarter of 2020.
"The post-drilling analysis of LMS-2 in Lalla Mimouna has identified similarities with the LAM-1 well discovery made by the previous operator of the concession in 2015," said the British company.
SDX Energy estimates that the LMS-2 well could contain 1.5 billion cubic feet of gas. "An additional 6 billion cubic feet could be secured in distinct areas with the same characteristic, in addition to 3.4 billion cubic feet of additional potential resources if the tests are successful," the company said.
Another estimate: the concession could generate 10.9 billion cubic feet. It is planned that the LMS-2 deposit will be tested at a time when the restrictions imposed by covid-19 in Morocco will allow the drilling and testing teams to return to the kingdom.
SDX Energy also said it has identified 25.5 billion cubic feet of additional potential resources in several areas of interest in the same concession.
