Saudi Billionaire Linked to Sarkozy Scandal Launches Media Firm in Morocco

The 8th richest person in Saudi Arabia, Kalid Boukchane, has chosen to set up shop in Morocco to launch his communication and advertising company, Global Display, created in Casablanca on January 21.
A brief look back at the background of the Saudi billionaire reveals the financial scandals in which he was involved, including the 500,000 euros paid to the Interior Minister during the time of Nicolas Sarkozy, Claude Guéant.
The latter had received a one-year prison sentence for embezzlement and suspected corruption. Questioned in 2015 about the nature of the transaction with the French diplomat, the Saudi billionaire had claimed, without being able to justify it, the purchase of works of art.
The eighth richest person in Saudi Arabia, Khalid Boukchane, a franchisee of the Bridgestone, Hyundai and Mitsubishi brands, has decided to change course by launching into the urban advertising billboard market.
