Satellite internet: imminent arrival of Starlink?

As early as 2025, Moroccans could have access to satellite internet thanks to Starlink and OneWeb. The ANRT, the telecommunications regulatory authority in Morocco, is considering granting licenses to these two companies.
The objective? Improve internet coverage and connection quality, particularly in remote areas where the installation of terrestrial networks is difficult. "Starlink", a project of the company SpaceX, relies on a constellation of mini-satellites in low orbit to guarantee high throughput and low latency.
This technology could play a major role in the development of the digital economy in Morocco. By providing high-speed access to all, including the most isolated municipalities, it promotes access to information and online services.
In addition, Morocco is seeking to boost the sector in the run-up to important deadlines such as the Africa Cup of Nations and especially the 2030 World Cup it will host. It knows it has no room for error and among FIFA’s requirements is a good internet bandwidth via fiber or 5G.
