Safran Expands Aircraft Nacelle Production in Morocco with $11 Million Investment

The company Safran Nacelles Maroc, specialized in the construction of high-tech equipment, inaugurated on Tuesday the extension of its plant in Nouaceur, dedicated to the production of aircraft nacelles.
Carried out on an area of 6,000 m², this extension is dedicated to the production of nacelles for the high-end business aircraft Gulfstream G700/G800, the company said, specifying that the project is part of the industrial development plan of the site which will be even more efficient and efficient in order to increase the production rates of the nacelles demanded by customers.
For this project, Safran has invested an amount of 115 million dirhams on the site, incorporating the best standards of the aeronautics industry. This unit thus becomes the reference site of the company in Morocco with a strong desire to digitize its production processes and reduce its environmental footprint.
Concretely, the work has involved the installation of cutting-edge equipment such as a large autoclave, ergonomic workstations, machining machines or the latest generation of robots and cobots. The site has also doubled the area of a room dedicated to the manufacture of composite parts, going from 1,800 m² to 3,600 m².
In order to contribute to reducing the CO₂ emissions of Safran’s facilities by 30% by 2025, the site is equipped with a power plant whose energy will be supplied by 3,000 photovoltaic panels installed on the new extension as well as in the parking lot canopy. It will produce 20% of the site’s electricity. Operational in August 2022, it will allow a saving of 2,000 tons of CO₂ per year.
