Saad Lamjarred : his reaction after the postponement of the trial

The Moroccan artist has chosen social networks to disseminate, this Monday, December 1ᵉʳ, the position of his lawyers following the postponement of his trial before the Var Assize Court. The defense says it is taking note of this decision, motivated by the state of health of the president of the court, but expresses its regrets in the face of this lengthening of the deadlines. The lawyers recall that a dismissal had been requested by the public prosecutor’s office four and a half years ago in this case of alleged rape dating back to the summer of 2018.

The press release also addresses the other ongoing case, that of 2016 currently on appeal in Créteil, whose hearing has also been postponed. This setback is attributed to the behavior of the plaintiff. She is now the subject of prosecution for attempted extortion and criminal conspiracy. According to the document, she would have demanded three million euros in exchange for the withdrawal of her accusations or her absence from the trial, a maneuver that the singer claims to have reported without delay to the authorities.

The defense insists that Saad Lamjarred is only concerned by these two procedures. His representatives reaffirm that he has been proclaiming his innocence for nine years and that he hopes for a quick judicial outcome, although no new date has been set for the Draguignan trial, the schedule being full until June 2026.
