Saad Lamjarred case: the plaintiff prosecuted for demanding 3 million euros in exchange for silence

According to a judicial source cited by AFP, the 29-year-old woman has been summoned before the Paris Criminal Court. She is accused of having "asked Saad Lamjarred, through his manager, to pay the sum of 3 million euros" in exchange for the withdrawal of her rape accusations or her absence from the appeal trial. This attempt failed when the singer reported the facts to the police.

The investigation has expanded the circle of those involved. In addition to the plaintiff, four alleged accomplices have been summoned by the justice system, including her mother, a lawyer and an influencer. The charges include "attempted extortion" and "criminal conspiracy".

For Saad Lamjarred’s defense, this procedure changes the situation. His lawyers, Me Zoé Royaux and Me Laurent Simeray, believe that "these new elements weaken the credibility of the civil party and consequently the accusation before the Créteil Assize Court".

The singer had been sentenced to six years in prison in 2023 for acts dating back to 2016 in a Parisian hotel, which he has always contested. His appeal trial, initially scheduled for June, has been postponed.
