Ryanair Surges Ahead in Morocco-Europe Air Travel Market, Outpacing Royal Air Maroc

The Irish low-cost carrier Ryanair has contributed significantly to the significant evolution of the air transport market between Morocco and Europe, outpacing the national airline Royal Air Maroc (RAM).
From 2019 to 2024, the air transport seat capacity between Morocco and Europe increased by 36.3%. A positive balance sheet for the airlines operating flights between the kingdom and the European continent. With 9,839,356 seats, representing a growth of 96.7% compared to 2019, the Irish low-cost carrier Ryanair is at the top of the ranking. It is followed by Royal Air Maroc (RAM). The latter offered a capacity of 4,846,852 seats, which represents a slight decrease of 3% compared to 2019. Air Arabia Maroc takes third place with a capacity of 3,186,444 seats, recording a notable growth of 26.4%.
Low-cost airlines dominate the ranking. With 2,901,475 seats (123.7%), EasyJet takes fourth place. It is followed by Wizz Air, which reaches a capacity of 411,842 seats, a strong growth of 606.4%. Major European airlines have also contributed to the significant evolution of the market between Morocco and Europe. With a capacity of 2,575,977 seats (34.6%), Transavia takes fifth place. Then comes Air France with 1,217,697 seats (30.6%). In the rest of the ranking we find: Vueling (491,229 seats, 51.7%), Iberia (505,805 seats, 28.4%)... On the other hand, the TUI group recorded a significant decrease of 32.8%.
