Ryanair Passengers Endure Sweltering Heat, Then Freezing Cold on Delayed Marrakech-London Flight

A British tourist has just shared his rather frightening experience on a flight departing from Marrakech Menara Airport to London Stansted Airport.

The Ryanair Marrakech-London flight scheduled for Sunday, August 17th was delayed by 52 minutes before takeoff due to a minor technical problem with the plane that impacted the air conditioning. Keyaan Adediran, a 20-year-old student from Oxford, was on board the plane. He was returning to London after spending a few vacation days in Morocco. On TikTok, he shared his experience, which he himself describes as "quite frankly quite frightening". While the plane was immobilized, the air conditioning continued to heat up. "The incident was felt as a lack of organization and preparation. It was really scary," he said.

The doors of the plane were open, but the temperature in Marrakech was reaching 45°C at the time. "The heat persisted throughout our immobilization and about 10 minutes after takeoff. There were children and elderly people suffering from the heat. They were well cared for by the caregivers," the young student recounts. He will add: "[...] But after that, it was extremely cold and everyone I talked to, like me, shivered for the remaining three hours".

A company spokesperson confirmed that this flight from Marrakech to London Stansted was delayed by 52 minutes before takeoff due to a minor technical problem, which impacted the plane’s air conditioning, reports Mirror. "In order for the flight to be ready as soon as possible, the passengers remained on board. During this time, the doors of the plane remained open and water was available on request," he added.
