Ryanair Morocco flights: summer strike threat recedes
Travelers can breathe easy for now. Union discussions are calming as summer approaches, moving away from the risk of cancellations, particularly to Morocco. However, the issue of Belgian pilots’ pensions maintains a potential turbulence zone for the coming months.
Although the airline decided to consolidate its winter anchor at Charleroi with two additional aircraft, it was above all the summer social climate that crystallized concerns. For now, the horizon is brightening. According to La Dernière Heure, preparatory discussions for the renewal of the agreement are taking place in a cordial atmosphere. "There is no reason to be afraid of social movements at Ryanair during the coming season," reassures Didier Lebbe, permanent secretary CNE Aviation. The union representative nevertheless warns that no final agreement has been signed and that "the ball is in Ryanair’s court" in case of deteriorating relations.

In parallel, another threat still looms over traffic. Since April, a strike notice has been filed by Belgian pilots from all airlines, concerning the issue of their future pension. The unions currently favor the judicial route and negotiations with the office of the competent minister, Jan Jambon. In the absence of concrete progress, actions on the tarmac are not ruled out, although no mobilization date has been set at this stage to paralyze flights.
