Ryanair Flight Forced to Return After Passengers Cause Mid-Air Chaos

Men caused panic on board a Ryanair flight from Stansted to Marrakech. The plane had to turn back.
The drama was avoided. An aircraft of the Irish low-cost airline Ryanair, supposed to connect Stansted to Marrakech, was forced to turn back and return to the Essex airport after an hour of flight, due to a group of "disruptive passengers abusing the staff" and consuming "drugs" on board, reports the Daily Mail. Images show men being removed from the aircraft, but Essex police later said they had made no arrests.
"It was very chaotic. Everyone was panicked and wondering what was going on," says a passenger. He continues: "We found out the plane was turning back to Stansted about an hour after takeoff. When we finally landed, about four armed police officers boarded the plane."
"This Stansted to Marrakech flight returned to Stansted Airport shortly after takeoff when a small group of passengers disrupted the flight. The crew called ahead for police assistance and the aircraft was met by local police upon arrival at Stansted Airport. This is now a matter for the local police," a Ryanair spokesperson explained. He assured that the passengers were subsequently transferred to another aircraft to reach Marrakech later in the evening.
The Irish low-cost airline also apologized to the passengers. "Ryanair apologizes for any inconvenience caused to passengers due to these disruptive passengers."
