Ryanair Faces Near-Total Shutdown as Coronavirus Travel Bans Intensify

The signs are red for the low-cost airline Ryannair, which has reduced its flight program by more than 80%, due to the coronavirus epidemic.
Tuesday, March 24 will be decisive for Ryanair. According to company officials, "most, if not all" of the group’s flights (including Buzz, Lauda and Malta Air) will be grounded, with the exception of a very small number of flights to maintain essential connections, mainly between the United Kingdom and Ireland.
According to the Irish low-cost specialist, in recent days, the spread of the Covid-19 virus has led most EU governments to impose severe travel bans and restrictions, thus causing many cancellations and travel disruptions across the group’s network.
According to Air-journal, the company was already expecting, this Tuesday, that the Irish low-cost airline, Buzz in Poland, Lauda in Austria and Malta Air, would reduce their offerings by up to 80% in April and May, and a grounding of the majority of its fleet "over the next 7 to 10 days". "This is now verified".
In this sense, "all affected customers will receive an email to inform them of their options," the company promises. In addition, it announces that the details of these greatly reduced flight schedules are available on the "Travel Advice" page on Ryanair.com, which is regularly updated.
