Ryanair Expands Morocco Operations, Aims to Double Passengers by 2027

The Irish airline Ryanair plans to strengthen its flight program to and from Morocco from next year.
Ryanair is increasing its services. From the summer of 2024, the company will serve 24 international routes and 11 domestic routes in Morocco. The Irish low-cost airline also plans to dedicate two aircraft to the city of Tangier. This increase in flights is part of the company’s flight program aimed at doubling its annual passenger numbers in Morocco to reach more than 10 million passengers by 2027.

The Ministry of Transport and Logistics, as well as the Ministry of Tourism, will support the Irish low-cost airline in the implementation of this program. "Ryanair’s new program will include the opening of eleven new domestic routes connecting nine Moroccan destinations to Agadir, Errachidia, Essaouira, Fez, Marrakech, Ouarzazate, Oujda, Tangier and Tetouan," said Mohamed Abdel Jalil, the Minister of Transport and Logistics.
These new flights offer advantages for Morocco. They should contribute significantly to mitigating the geographical isolation of some Moroccan cities such as Ouarzazate, Essaouira and Errachidia, allowing tourists to access them more easily. The company is targeting six Moroccan destinations, namely Marrakech with nine new links, Tangier with eight, Agadir with three, Beni Mellal with two and new links to Fez and Rabat, it is specified.
