Ryanair Expands to Morocco: New Base in Agadir Promises 60 Jobs and 30 Routes

Ryanair announced earlier this week the opening of a new base at Agadir Al-Massira International Airport in Morocco. For the Irish low-cost carrier, this new platform aims to contribute to the development of tourism activity and the local economy through job creation.
With more than 65 flights per week and 30 routes departing from Agadir, Ryanair passengers will now be able to make bookings at prices defying all competition. "We are delighted to celebrate the opening of our base in Agadir and to announce our program for the summer of 2022, which will offer increased connectivity with two based aircraft," said Dara Brady, Ryanair’s Director of Marketing, Digital and Communications.
The new Agadir base "will create 60 direct jobs and offer our Moroccan customers a multitude of European destinations, with 20 new routes connecting Morocco to cities such as Alicante, Bologna, Lisbon, Madrid, Naples, Tenerife, Turin and Valencia," he specified. And he added: "We have worked closely with Agadir Airport to ensure this growth and improve services for those who live, work or wish to visit the region. At a time when other airlines are reducing their workforce, we are delighted to invest further in our staff and in Europe’s airports."
