Ryanair’s Domestic Flights in Morocco Challenge Air Arabia’s Market Share

The arrival of the Irish low-cost airline Ryanair, the third airline to operate domestic flights in Morocco, is putting pressure on Air Arabia.
Does Air Arabia Maroc feel threatened by the competition? After the arrival of Ryanair, which has launched several domestic flights, the Moroccan company has increased, starting from Wednesday, its flights between Agadir and Rabat (round-trip), bringing the number of weekly flights between these two cities to 7. This increase in frequency follows the recent signing of an addendum to the agreement between Air Arabia and the Souss-Massa region, with the aim of meeting the growing demand and contributing to the development of domestic tourism. To date, the annual number of flights between Rabat and Agadir has reached around 728 flights.
This increase in flights between the two cities has been welcomed by Abdelhak Chahli, first vice-president of the Agadir-Souss Massa regional tourism council, who hails it as a "commendable" initiative. This decision will have a positive impact on the promotion of domestic and international tourism in the Souss Massa region, he said.
