Russia Doubles Scholarships for Moroccan Students Amid Geopolitical Tensions

Russia continues to welcome Moroccan students on its territory. It has decided to increase the number of scholarships it grants them.
"Regarding the scholarships granted to students, currently Russia gives more than 40 scholarships and in 2024 it will be a hundred scholarships for students," announced Petr Iakhmennev, director of the Russian Center for Science and Culture, counselor at the Russian Embassy in Morocco and representative of "Rossotroudnichestvo" in an interview with the newspaper Le ematin. According to his explanations, the Russian-Ukrainian war does not hinder studies in Russia. "Russia has opened its doors to all students, not only Moroccans, after studying their file to give the equivalent," assured the Russian official.

"There is also a branch of this language in certain Moroccan universities. Courses in the Russian language are held at the Center, which invites all those who wish to learn the language. The Russian language is also taught in many associations of Russian compatriots in different cities of Morocco," he said, adding that the Russian language has been known in Morocco for nearly 100 years.
The Russian official also specified that according to the statistics of the Association of Russian Language Teachers, there are about 18,000 graduates who have studied in Russian.
