Russia Blocks 56 Tons of Moroccan Fish Over Labeling Discrepancy

Russia has recently blocked a large shipment of fish from Morocco, citing a discrepancy between the information on the labels and that in the accompanying documents.
This seizure, carried out at the port of Baltiysk, concerns more than 56 tons of frozen fish originally destined for the Kaliningrad region.
The Russian veterinary and phytosanitary surveillance authority, Rosselkhoznadzor, revealed that this decision followed an inspection of two lots of fish. During this check, an anomaly was detected on the Moroccan veterinary certificate: the production date mentioned on the product labels did not match the one indicated in the official documents.
Faced with this irregularity, the Russian authorities took immediate action. Samples from the cargo were taken and sent to the Federal Animal Health Center in Kaliningrad for further analysis. The goal is to ensure that these products do not pose any risk to consumer health.
