The Royal Moroccan Air Force acquires powerful H225M from Airbus

The fleet of the Royal Moroccan Air Force (RMAF) will soon expand with ten H225M helicopters. This is the order placed by Morocco as part of a contract signed with the aircraft manufacturer Airbus Helicopters. These aircraft will replace the Puma used for more than 40 years. They will be equipped with the Euroflir 410, an airborne electro-optical system designed by Safran to carry out intelligence, protection, and search and rescue missions in all weather conditions. They will also be able to carry machine guns and an electronic warfare system for their self-protection.

The contract also includes a set of support and maintenance services with connected services. This order is part of the ongoing cooperation between Morocco and Airbus, said Bruno Even, CEO of Airbus Helicopters. He added: "The H225M is a great success on the market. This aircraft is a benchmark for complex missions in difficult environments. This order confirms the reputation of the H225M as the helicopter of choice for combat search and rescue and special operations missions around the world."

More than 360 H225 and H225M, or nearly 980,000 cumulative flight hours, are used worldwide. France, the Netherlands, Hungary, Brazil, Mexico, Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, Iraq, and Kuwait are among the users.
