Royal Air Maroc Under Fire: Dozens of Guinean Passengers’ Luggage Lost After Repatriation Flight

Several dozen Guinean passengers, stranded for several months in Morocco, are demanding their luggage, ten days after returning to their country on a special flight operated by Royal Air Maroc.
This special flight repatriated nearly 170 Guinean nationals back home, reports the local site Actujeune. While the majority of passengers returned home with their luggage, a few dozen of them are desperately looking for their suitcases that they have still not recovered.
One of the passengers claims that Royal Air Maroc promised to contact them last Wednesday, two days after their arrival in vain. According to this passenger, all of her mother’s medicines are in these bags..."even our 10 kg suitcases were taken from us," she laments.
According to her, a person using a number with the +33 code contacted some passengers, asking them to specify the color of their suitcases and parcels. "RAM has built a bad reputation in Guinea when it comes to transporting passengers’ luggage," she recalled.
Questioned, Royal Air Maroc clarified the situation by specifying that only 60 passengers are affected by this delay in the retrieval of their luggage. Continuing its explanations, RAM recalled that the passengers boarded this repatriation flight with a plethoric number of luggage. "The plane, unable to carry everything (due to overload), left with some bags missing, which were to be transported later by another flight," the company promised.
