Royal Air Maroc Restores Direct Flights Between Casablanca and Moscow

Good news for Moroccans residing in Russia. The national airline Royal Air Maroc (RAM) has resumed the Casablanca - Moscow route, which had been suspended due to the Covid-19 pandemic and the invasion of Ukraine by Russia.
The ordeal of Moroccans residing in Russia, who until now had been forced to transit through other European airports, notably those in Istanbul, Turkey, Yerevan, Armenia or Helsinki, Finland, to reach Morocco, is over. The resumption of direct flights connecting Mohammed V Airport in Casablanca to Moscow-Domodedovo Airport was effective on Tuesday, May 2, 2023. The airline connects the two airports twice a week (Tuesdays and Thursdays for the outbound, Wednesdays and Fridays for the return). The flights will last about 6 hours and 15 minutes. A round-trip Casablanca-Moscow flight is offered starting at 7,000 dirhams, the company specifies on its website.
In a statement to the website Le360, a source close to the company reveals that the decision to restore the direct link between Casablanca and Moscow is motivated by human and social reasons, not purely economic. And to add: "The new route will provide an alternative solution for the Moroccan community in the region (Russia, Belarus, etc.), but also for Russians residing or having interests in Morocco and Africa."
