Royal Air Maroc Prepares Fleet for Repatriation Flights After Two-Month Grounding

Royal Air Maroc is preparing its fleet and mobilizing its flight crew for the repatriation of Moroccans stranded abroad for more than two months. The repatriation operation should start very soon.
After more than two months of inactivity and the shutdown of its entire fleet of around sixty aircraft parked on the tarmac of Mohammed V airport in Nouaceur, Royal Air Maroc is working to resume some repatriation flights for Moroccans stranded in Morocco and around the world, pending regular flights as in 2019, reports challenge.ma.
A special RAM flight was already chartered on May 28, 2020 for Moroccan expatriates in Italy, who have also been stranded for several days.
According to experts, this immobilization has cost nearly 50 million DH in losses per day. Pending this resumption, the Moroccan airline has proceeded with the technical monitoring of its aircraft, including 31 Boeing 737-800, 4 Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner and 5 Boeing 787-800 Dreamliner, as recommended by the international authority.
After these repatriation flights, the company should soon resume commercial flights, after the reopening of European airspaces.
