Royal Air Maroc Pilots Fight Dissolution of Association as Legal Battle Continues

The pilots of Royal Air Maroc (RAM) are determined to thwart the threat of dissolution of their association. They plan to involve the Ministry of Tourism and Civil Aviation at the next hearing to succeed in this bet.
At this new hearing on November 4, 2020, the lawyers of the AMPL (Association of Moroccan Airline Pilots) spoke out on the dissolution of the association, as demanded in September last year by the defense of Royal Air Maroc, reports Le360. In its request, RAM accused the AMPL of having transgressed its prerogatives by inviting its members to observe a movement of discontent.
While the public prosecutor found RAM’s request admissible, the AMPL’s lawyers, Me Mohamed Mrini and Me Mohamed Oubraym, recalled the legal consequences of the act of dissolution on the work of two strategic commissions whose organization and functioning have been the subject of a decision published in the official bulletin, approved by the former Minister of Equipment, Abdeslam Znined.
According to Me Zakaria Mrini, these two commissions in which the AMPL sits, namely the Commission for the Equivalence of Airline Pilot Licenses and the Safety Commission, are now established within the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGAC) at the Ministry of Tourism. As such, the ministry has been called upon pending the judge’s approval. It has also filed a reply to the conclusions of the public prosecutor by highlighting the statute of limitations on the action for nullity.
Contacted, RAM remained completely silent and prefers not to comment before the final verdict. Until that date, a next hearing is scheduled for November 11, the date of the next hearing which will be devoted to the pleadings of the two parties.
