Royal Air Maroc May Follow Air France in Raising Fares for Sustainable Fuel

Like the airline Air France, Royal Air Maroc (RAM) could increase its ticket prices to finance the use of sustainable aviation fuel, which helps reduce CO2 emissions.
On Monday, Air France announced an increase in its ticket prices of 1 to 12 euros in order to offset part of the additional cost of using sustainable aviation fuel, which helps reduce CO2 emissions. The measure also applies to the other companies in the group, KLM and Transavia. "A ’Sustainable Aviation Fuel’ contribution will be integrated into the ticket price starting January 10: from 1 to 4 euros in Economy class, from 1.50 to 12 euros in Business class, depending on the distance," it states in a message to its customers.
Air France has also made a proposal to its passengers. It invites them to "voluntarily contribute" starting Thursday, "to the purchase of additional sustainable aviation fuel" on its website to reduce the carbon footprint of their travels. "Every euro of voluntary contribution will be invested in the purchase of these fuels," it assures.
As the best airline in Africa, Royal Air Maroc (RAM), which joined the prestigious Oneworld network, which brings together the world’s leading airlines known for their quality services and offerings in November last year, could follow in the footsteps of the French company. RAM had also announced in October last year an organizational transformation based on "optimizing the customer experience, advanced digitalization and the concepts of sustainability and eco-responsibility".
