Royal Air Maroc Maintains Grounded Fleet During Coronavirus Shutdown

Even though flights to and from Morocco have been suspended for more than a month, the Mohammed V International Airport in Casablanca is not deserted. Royal Air Maroc is watching over this period of confinement to preserve its fleet from environmental impact, in order to keep it operational.
Maintenance interventions are carried out daily at the Mohammed V Airport in Casablanca, thus preventing the aircraft from any potential deterioration. The tasks performed are in full compliance with the hygiene measures recommended in this period marked by a crisis related to the coronavirus.
A d’aujourd’hui.ma team went to meet the technicians who work to keep these various RAM aircraft, parked on the airport tarmac, in working order. It is a matter of "regular greasing, and checking the condition of the engine, the landing gear". The goal is to avoid drying out, which could be an obstacle when activities resume.
According to the explanations provided by the manager, the landing gear also undergo the same treatment as well as the tires. "A purge is done regularly on the fuel tank to prevent water stagnation at this vital part of the aircraft". In short, it is maintenance that is done frequently, and which solicits both human and financial resources. And it will be so until the confinement is lifted and flights are authorized by the Moroccan authorities.
All these maintenance and preservation works carried out regularly are executed by the designer of these aircraft, who is keen to ensure that the resumption takes place under good conditions. Thus, from the landing gear to the engine, the tank, the baggage hold, the technical cabin, no compartment escapes the technicians deployed on the tarmac of the Mohammed V Airport in Casablanca.
