Royal Air Maroc Launches Historic Casablanca-Tel Aviv Route, Aims for 500,000 Israeli Passengers by 2027

The national airline Royal Air Maroc (RAM) landed for the first time in Israel on Sunday, March 13, and is already dreaming big for the Casablanca-Tel Aviv route. A code-sharing agreement was signed on Monday, March 14, 2022 between it and the Israeli company El Al Israel Airlines.
"This is a historic moment. For me, this is a completely natural moment because there have always been ties between the Moroccan Jewish community and their country, which is Morocco. This is a natural moment to come to a country where there is a good part of the Moroccan community. Today, this flight is an additional tool, an instrument that allows Moroccans around the world and their country to come closer, to make it even easier for them in their country, Morocco," said Abdelhamid Addou, CEO of Royal Air Maroc (RAM) in an interview with Médias24 after the first landing of a Dreamliner of the company at Tel Aviv-David Ben Gurion airport.
According to him, the Casablanca-Tel Aviv flight will allow Moroccan Jews to visit their historical heritage. "It is also a tool to strongly support tourism. The Israeli tourist is a tourist who travels a lot," added Abdelhamid Addou, assuring that his company can now offer everything an Israeli tourist is looking for. "At the business level, the relationships between businessmen and businesswomen are more important. We can be closer, more complementary to build strong economies in our different countries," he is convinced, estimating that RAM will be able to transport 500,000 Israelis by 2027.
