Royal Air Maroc Flight Delayed 24 Hours, Strands 100 Teens at Montreal Airport

Big hassle for passengers on a Royal Air Maroc (RAM) flight from Montreal to Barcelona. The plane that was supposed to transport them took off from Montreal-Trudeau airport, after nearly 24 hours of waiting.
While Royal Air Maroc canceled its Montreal-Barcelona flight due to a mechanical breakdown, a group of about 100 teenagers and organizers from the Montreal Sports Team were waiting to board at Montreal-Trudeau airport. They claim they were not informed of the flight cancellation. After spending 15 hours at the airport, they were then accommodated in a Montreal hotel, reports the website tvanouvelles.ca. After hours of sleep, they check out of their rooms. Luggage in hand, the young people and a few adults wait in the hotel lobby. They then head to Montreal-Trudeau airport. After hours of waiting, the plane finally takes off for Barcelona on Saturday evening.
The children and chaperones of the Montreal Sports School went through a real ordeal for nearly 24 hours as they are supposed to participate in a football tournament in Spain. Dissatisfied, they express their anger. "What we deplore is that Royal Air Maroc did not provide any support to the administrative staff to help us. It’s very disappointing," fumes one of the passengers. "It’s very painful for the players. Yesterday (Friday, March 31), some were crying. The parents are discouraged," said another passenger. "Yesterday (Friday, March 31), we were all here, a little sad, and we stayed here until maybe 3 a.m."
