Royal Air Maroc Extends Flight Suspension to Spain and Europe Until May 21 Amid COVID-19 Concerns

The airline Royal Air Maroc (RAM) has just extended until May 21 the suspension of flights with Spain and other European countries, decided on March 30 by the Moroccan authorities to limit the spread of the coronavirus.
"Due to the health context", and to comply with the restrictive measures taken by the Moroccan authorities to limit the spread of the coronavirus, Royal Air Maroc (RAM) suspended on Friday all its air links with Spain and other European countries until May 21. Thus, no flight will be operated during the holy month of Ramadan and the summer holidays.
Only four African countries (Mauritania, Senegal, Ivory Coast and Tunisia) and two countries in America (United States and Canada), in addition to the United Arab Emirates and Dubai, are currently served by the company, which has already suspended its flights with Spain, France, Portugal, Italy, Belgium, Germany, Switzerland, Holland, the United Kingdom, Turkey, Egypt, Algeria, Cameroon, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Guinea, Mali and Ghana.
However, "special flights" are authorized by the Moroccan authorities to repatriate people stranded in Morocco. Out of about 5,000 people stranded after the suspension of flights with Spain and France, nearly 4,000 have already been repatriated between April 4 and 9.
Morocco is pursuing its massive vaccination campaign launched in January. In total, more than 4 million Moroccans have already received their Sinopharm or AstraZeneca vaccine doses.
