Royal Air Maroc Expands Fleet with Dreamliners and A330 NEOs Ahead of 2030 World Cup

The fleet of Royal Air Maroc (RAM) will expand with the arrival of Dreamliner and A330 NEO aircraft before 2030, the year Morocco will co-host the 2030 World Cup with Spain and Portugal. Abdelhamid Addou, CEO of the company, traveled to the United States and Toulouse to stay informed of the latest aircraft innovations and ensure the proper execution of Moroccan orders.

Seattle marks the first stage of Abdelhamid Addou’s tour. He visited Boeing’s headquarters, where he met with senior executives of the aircraft manufacturer. This manufacturer will have to deliver dozens of Dreamliner aircraft, specialized in long-haul flights, to RAM. After the United States, the CEO of the national airline set his sights on Toulouse. He visited Airbus’s main assembly plant, which will supply RAM with aircraft for medium-haul flights and other new A330 NEO models, with wide fuselages and intended for long-haul flights. Airbus aircraft will be used in the Royal Air Maroc fleet for the first time.

These steps are part of the official strategy of the Moroccan state to develop the Kingdom’s air fleet in order to exceed 256 aircraft by 2030, the year Morocco will co-host the World Cup with Spain and Portugal. According to observers, the aviation sector in Morocco will experience significant growth over the next ten years, with the vast development projects of Moroccan airports, particularly in Rabat, Tangier, Agadir, Casablanca, Marrakech, Tetouan, Nador, Dakhla, in addition to connecting these airports to the rail network, RER trains and the smart bus network.
