Royal Air Maroc Expands Fleet with Two New Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners

The fleet of Royal Air Maroc (RAM) will grow. The national airline has ordered new aircraft from Boeing, the American aerospace and aviation manufacturer.
The number of Dreamliners owned by Royal Air Maroc will increase from 9 to 11. In a press release, Boeing and the Moroccan company announced a new order for two 787-9 Dreamliners. "The two Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners will allow Royal Air Maroc to expand its long-haul network in the short term in response to very favorable market conditions in 2023," said Abdelhamid Addou, CEO of RAM, adding that "at the same time, the company is actively pursuing a major tender aimed at quadrupling the fleet by 2037."
"The 787 Dreamliner is perfectly suited to support Royal Air Maroc’s growth and modernization plans," said Brad McMullen, Boeing’s senior vice president of sales and marketing, recalling that the relationship between Boeing and the airline has spanned more than five decades. "... We look forward to further opportunities to strengthen our partnership with Royal Air Maroc," he added. RAM is leveraging the efficiency and flexibility of the 787 family to expand its long-haul network, the press release notes.
The company plans to quadruple its aircraft fleet from the current 50 aircraft to 200 aircraft over the next 15 years. This ambitious project is part of the performance contract it signed with the government in July.
