Royal Air Maroc Expands European Reach: New Direct Flights Boost Marrakech Tourism

The national airline Royal Air Maroc (RAM) is pursuing its development plan for "non-stop flights", aimed at connecting the main domestic destinations to the European tourist basins, mainly France and Belgium.
Royal Air Maroc (RAM) plans to launch and strengthen a number of direct air links from Marrakech to French and Belgian cities, in an approach aimed at supporting the Kingdom’s air connectivity with the main European tourist markets, and consolidating the company’s position as a major player in the national tourism sector. This decision, which will come into effect from October 10th next, is part of its development plan for the "non-stop flights" segment, aimed at connecting the main domestic destinations to the European tourist basins, foremost among which are France and Belgium, the company said in a press release.
Thus, the company will connect Marrakech to Toulouse and Lyon with two flights per week, on Mondays and Fridays. Flights to Toulouse will depart in the morning and return at noon. As for the flights to Lyon, they will depart in the afternoon and return in the evening. From October 11th, RAM will operate the Marrakech-Nantes route with two weekly flights, on Wednesdays and Saturdays, with a morning departure and a noon return. The Marrakech-Bordeaux link will be launched on October 12th. Two weekly flights will be operated on Thursdays and Sundays, with an evening departure and a late-night return.
The launch of these new air links will meet the needs of Moroccans living abroad (MREs), as well as international tourists, and will help strengthen the position of the city of Marrakech as a strategic tourist destination, said Hamid Addou, Chairman and CEO of Royal Air Maroc, adding that the company continues to play a central role in serving the national tourism sector and in implementing its strategic roadmap by 2030.
In addition to the launch of these new destinations, Royal Air Maroc (RAM) also intends to strengthen its flights to Marseille and Brussels. The company plans to add additional flights on Wednesdays and Saturdays to Marseille, and on Thursdays and Sundays to Brussels, with schedules adapted to the demands of French and Belgian tourists, as well as Moroccans residing in these countries.
These new additions will strengthen the "non-stop flights" network that connects a number of Moroccan cities such as Oujda, Agadir, Tangier, Nador, Fez, Rabat, Dakhla and Laâyoune to many European destinations, including Paris, Brussels, Barcelona, London, Amsterdam, Düsseldorf and Frankfurt, the company said.
Furthermore, RAM invites travelers to purchase tickets for these flights through its website, call centers, commercial agencies, as well as its network of approved travel agencies.
