Royal Air Maroc Drops Out of World’s Top 25 Safest Airlines Ranking

Royal Air Maroc (RAM) is not among the top 25 safest airlines in the world. This is the result of the ranking compiled by a specialized website.
Royal Air Maroc (RAM) is absent from the top 25 safest airlines in the world, established by the specialized website Airline Ratings this year. It was in the ranking in 2020. Air New Zealand tops the top 25 this year. It owes the first place to its "firm focus on safety," explained Geoffrey Thomas, editor-in-chief of the rating site, adding that the New Zealand airline "has excelled in the broad spectrum of safety, never losing sight of the slightest detail." And he added: employing experienced crews, Air New Zealand "operates in some of the most challenging weather environments that test pilots’ skills."
Qantas ranks second in the ranking. It is followed by Virgin Australia, Etihad Airways, Qatar Airways, Emirates and All Nippon Airways. Then come Finnair, Cathay Pacific, Alaska Airlines, SAS, Korean Air, Singapore Airlines, EVA Air, British Airways, Turkish Airlines, TAP Air Portugal, Lufthansa Group, KLM, Japan Airlines and Hawaiian Airlines. American Airlines is in 22nd place. Air France, Air Canada and United Airlines close the podium.
To establish its ranking, the specialized site "Airline Ratings" compared the safety references of 385 traditional airlines. It also closely examined eleven criteria, including serious safety incidents, recent fatal accidents, audits by aviation regulatory bodies, fleet age and pilot training to determine the safest.
