Royal Air Maroc Cuts Staff Salaries 30% Amid Global Flight Suspensions

Royal Air Maroc is suffering greatly from the immobilization of its aircraft, since the Moroccan government decided to suspend all air links with the international community.
In a difficult context, where the crisis risks jeopardizing the sector, the Moroccan airline company found itself obliged to announce a 30% reduction in the salaries of its staff.
According to another press release from the Moroccan National Tourist Office, relayed by Al Oumk, the financial resources of the national operator do not allow it to cover the payroll of its 3,420 employees, not to mention the 4,000 employees in its subsidiaries. A situation that the head of government had promised to remedy.
Given the difficult situation, Royal Air Maroc has decided to withhold salaries from its employees, except for those whose income is less than 10,000 dirhams. Otherwise, the withholding has been capped at 30%, with a commitment to retroactive payment as soon as activity resumes.
