Royal Air Maroc Boosts Flights to Popular Moroccan Destinations Amid High Demand

Royal Air Maroc resumed its domestic flights on June 25, 2020. Faced with too strong demand, the national airline has decided to shift into high gear with its flights connecting Casablanca to Dakhla and Laâyoune, going from 3 to 5 weekly flights, from July 5.
One week after the resumption of its activities, RAM’s customer base has increased tenfold. The national carrier has therefore revised upwards its traffic forecasts to Dakhla, the first destination served at the resumption, reports Le 360. For RAM, all its flights are 100% full of their capacity, unlike land passenger carriers invited not to exceed 50% of their capacity.
This rush to this destination is justified by the fact that Dakhla represents a dream tourist destination. It has eco-responsible accommodation units on the edge of the ocean. The other asset the region has is that it is one of those spared for the moment by the coronavirus epidemic.
This city, deconfined in the early hours of the lifting of the state of emergency, offers adapted packages, at affordable prices for tourists (one of the best 5-star establishments in the city offers 780 dirhams per night on a full board basis, including transfer to/from the airport and a yoga session). They also benefit from "subsidized" prices for flights connecting Casablanca to Dakhla while strictly respecting the health protocol issued by the health authorities.
Like Dakhla, the Laâyoune region, also spared by the covid-19 pandemic, is experiencing a strong influx. In this regard, RAM also plans to increase the frequency of flights from July 5.
