Royal Air Maroc Aims to Expand Fleet, Add New Routes to Africa, Europe, and Americas

Royal Air Maroc is considering a major expansion, according to statements by its CEO, Abdelhamid Addou. Faced with the increase in tourism in Morocco and with the ambition to open new routes, mainly to Africa, Europe and the Americas, the airline plans to expand its fleet by acquiring new long and medium-haul aircraft.
"We are looking to add a lot of new routes, mainly to Africa, Europe and the Americas," Abdelhamid Addou told Bloomberg, adding: "A larger fleet is essential to strengthen the global dimension of the company and leverage Morocco’s status as a tourist destination."
Last month, the CEO of Royal Air Maroc made announcements regarding the upcoming summer season and the acquisition of new aircraft. For the summer season, the company plans a total offer of 6.2 million seats spread over no less than 90 destinations. These destinations include 34 European airports, North America, Africa with 26 direct links, as well as the Middle East markets. To support this expansion, RAM has also planned to lease six new generation aircraft.
