Royal Air Maroc Adopts Digital Customs Platform for Streamlined Import Procedures

Royal Air Maroc wants to benefit from the digitized services offered through the National Single Window for Foreign Trade Procedures PortNet. The airline plans to use this platform for the filing and processing of customs documents for imports.
In a press release, the company indicated that these new features take into account the electronic management of the delivery order, the automatic notification of the arrival notice of goods at import, and the coordinated management of the physical inspection of goods.
Thanks to the PortNet single window, the delivery order previously physically issued by the carrier to the consignee of the goods to ensure its customs clearance will now be transmitted electronically to the importer or his representative. The same goes for arrival notices sent to importers to inform them of delivery dates and locations. They will now be the subject of instant and automated notifications.
As for physical inspection appointments, the coordination between Royal Air Maroc, the Customs and Indirect Taxes Administration and the other non-customs control bodies will also be ensured by the same platform so that a date is retained.
In addition, the digital submission of summary declarations, filed with Customs before the arrival of the flights concerned and containing all the information relating to the cargoes transported by Royal Air Maroc, is also operational. According to the same press release, the PortNet single window is available at all the company’s Freight terminals in Morocco.
