Royal Air Maroc Adds Second Flight to Evacuate Moroccans from Ukraine Amid Rising Tensions

To meet the strong demand from Moroccans stranded in Ukraine, the airline Royal Air Maroc (RAM) has scheduled a second flight departing Kiev for Casablanca this Tuesday, February 15, 2022.

"Faced with the strong demand observed on the first flight announced by Royal Air Maroc, a second flight is launched the same day, February 15, 2022, departing Kiev for Casablanca," Royal Air Maroc (RAM) announced on its Twitter account. It invites Moroccans stranded in Ukraine to consult its website for more information.

RAM had initially announced a flight from Kiev to Casablanca, starting Tuesday, February 15, to repatriate Moroccans in Ukraine, where border tensions are raising fears of the worst. For its part, the airline Air Arabia has tweeted to announce that it will also operate a repatriation flight this Tuesday, February 15, between Kiev and Tangier. "Other flights will be scheduled in the coming days," it stressed.

On Saturday, the Moroccan embassy in Kiev called on Moroccan citizens in Ukraine to leave the country for their safety. "In light of the current situation, the Embassy of the Kingdom of Morocco in Kiev recommends that Moroccan citizens in Ukraine leave the country for their safety via available commercial flights," the diplomatic representation said in a statement. It also made available phone numbers (0800502683, a toll-free number to call from Ukraine and 0537663300 to call from Morocco) to receive their calls.
